The concept of the pocket square goes all the way back to the ancient Greeks. Wealthy Greeks carried around perfumed hankies as early as 500 B.C. English and French noblemen carried perfumed and embroidered hankies in order to cover their noses from the stench of the streets and other people.

Launching my Art onto Silk

During my journey to developing the new Whalley silk brand, I stumbled across a young man by the name of Chris Suitor. Himself and his brother own suitor menswear in Belfast city centre. Clothing and customising is in his and his families blood…especially having a second name so close to his own profession!

The Whalley Brand

From the outset I wanted to infuse my old heritage with my contemporary lifestyle and so looked to my Whalley Coat of Arms for inspiration. My grandfather fought in World War II and was a war hero at the Battle of Dunkirk and I wanted to honor his bravery within the brand.
